Companion mode
On this system the add-on does not connect the controllers – the SKZ Connect app does. The add-on only shows what the app reports: the menu (Programs > SKZ Connect) and the home widget with connected and known controllers and their battery.

Windows
Install and start SKZ Connect for Windows (github.com/DevCatSKZ/SKZ-Connect). The app connects the controllers as Xbox controllers – Kodi recognises them without setup. It writes its status into Kodi's data folder; if it is not running, "SKZ Connect app is not running" is shown here. Kodi installed after SKZ Connect: restart SKZ Connect once.

Android
Install and start SKZ Connect for Android 0.9.1 or newer. The app stores its status in the Documents/SKZ Connect folder, where the add-on reads it. If Kodi still shows nothing, Android may block the access: allow Kodi access to files (storage) in the Android settings. Kodi installed after SKZ Connect: restart SKZ Connect once.

macOS
SKZ Connect is not available for macOS – the add-on can only display here and stays empty.

Settings
Button layout, gyro, rumble, pairing and so on are set in the SKZ Connect app. The settings of this add-on only apply on LibreELEC/Linux.

Widget on the home screen
Depending on the skin: Skin settings > Home > Widgets > Add-ons > SKZ-Connect.
